This 400m2 gallery with 5m ceilings, and a 35m clear span exhibition space positions the Grampians region as a major contributor to Australia’s creative and cultural infrustructure. The gallery’s large clear span space can host monumental international exhibitions or make use of it’s large scale internal wall dividers to exhibit smaller shows.The eastern wall of the gallery has a small double axe-head exstention on either side giving the space a sense of infinite extension. The gallery was established by the WAMA Foundation on land donated to the Trust for Nature, and funding with a combination of philantrhjopic and public money. The centre’s inaugural exhibition, End and Being by Jacobus Capone, confronting planetary warming through documented performance on Europe's Bossons Glacier opened in April 2015.
