Mildura Base Hospital given a new lease on life!

19/02/2016

We're very proud to have been part of this successful campaign, including work by our students from RMIT University Architecture Program, which has helped breathe new life into the Mildura Base Hospital. The heritage listed building is unique in type and size in Mildura and also an excellent example of works of its kind. The building came very close to demolition three years ago. Works are currently underway to restore and rejuvenate the 1930s building.

The hospital is slowly being returned to its original 1930s state with the help of a local developers, and will eventually become a 63-apartment complex. It has taken until recently to complete the clean up and preparation of the building which had remained derelict since 2000, which a great focus being on the restoration of heritage elements of the building.
